Light switch question

Howdy guys got a question that I know you can answer. Bout to switch to 12/12 but currently it is 18/6 12 pm to 6 am however I wish to run it from 6 pm to 6 am, what is the best way to accomplish this with as little to no stress as possible? Trying to avoid light leaks that is the reason for the times, that way the room outside the room is pitch black as well.

I am so cautious this time as last grow I hermie'd however the genetics were probably not the best and I had a heat issue (was 95 degrees in October outside so you can imagine I was struggling with my indoor grow) and it it being my first 600 watter didn't help matters.

If you are going into flower anyway just set the timer for your new schedule. Going from veg to flower either way will work, on or off. I myself would run it dark right up to new on time. Extra dark easier on plants than extra light. Again tho , not a huge deal veg- flower.

From what you're describing, the lights are currently on from 12noon to 6am, then dark from 6am to 12noon. Is that right?

If so, then the day you want to switch, just keep the lights off from 6am to 6pm, then put them on at 6pm and you're good.

But you also write about keeping the room dark when the outside room is dark, which makes me think you're dark period is from 12midnight to 6am.

If that's the case, then the day you want to switch, put them in the dark at 6pm instead of at midnight.

I was on a 24/0 schedule and went to 12/12 just by turning off the light at the time I wanted.
