Light Setup

whats up potheads,
well I went out today and bought a coupla lights. So now I have 2 100w cfl's. These cfl's consume 26w but put out 100w. And I also have 4 tube cool white flourescent lights, I think their 40w each. So I have a total of 360 watts of flourescent lights. And I also have a 1000 watt hps light. How should I set my grow room up? can I veg the plants with the flors and bud with the hps? what do you potheads think?

Exactly. Veg your clones and moms with the floros and flower with the hps. You are going to have some nice plants when you get it all down.

A shit load of little ones. One or two big ones. Its hard to say. I could prolly do 40 clones for the first 3 weeks under the two shop lights. Then they would need the hps light shortly after. You could just keep the hps on for 18/6 for a couple of weeks untill you change to the 12/12. Im getting ready to clone again so I am going to fill up all my floros. I will take a pic of how I do it.

okay see the thing is, I dont really want to use the 1000w until i flower, becuase of the cost$. so what do you suggest i do? get more flors? or a smaller 400w mh for veg?

Do what you want but I would be all over the 1000w. Its prolly an extra $50-$100 a month. But yeah you will need more lights. How many are you going to grow?

im planning on growing about 20 plants . if I were to say fuck it and just use the 1000w lights the whole way thru how many plants could I grow?

Would it work to not use lights and to use sunlight 12 hours and nighttime 12 hours?

so, you need to veg your plants under the flouros (buy a few more tube flouros for side lighting)

in order to get the same effects from the flouros as you would with MH is by ensuring a constant light breeze, side lighting, and by slightly pinching the main step lightly to increase stem density. You will still get the fat stalks needed to hold the large nugs.

in all hoesty, using the flouros, and HPS for budding will give you the full spectrum and the FULL yield. Trust me, you'll thank me later (since flouros are so cheap to run). The final result will show difference. I persally would do 12 plants in 5 gallon pots under your HPS with flowering induced at 12", and you'll get 3-4 foot heavy yielding monsters (with decent nutrients and a steady temp., youshould get no less than a lb. per 1000w light)

yea thats what im going to do buy some more florsand veg with them and bud with a 400w. so i can keep the bill to a minimum. how many plants should i grow with the 400w?
