Light schedule change

Currently I am running my lights 8am to 8pm. Due to low temps at night I was thinking it might be better to run from say 5pm to 5am.
As long as I don't mess with the plants 12 hours of darkness, can I change the time? Say today, instead of letting the lights go off at 8pm I leave them on until 5am and then switch the schedule to 5am(off) 5pm(on).

I do not want these plants to become hermie, so if I have to I'll just leave it the same, but last night my room got to 58F and it isn't even winter yet!

So, let the light go off at 8pm tonight, and then don't turn it on until 5pm tomorrow, giving it 19 hours of darkness.
