light question?

sure u can just keep the light really far away from them until they sprout. they really dont even need light until 2-3 days after the actual plant sprouts above the ground. once they do sprout keep the 400mh about 2 feet away from them if not more for the first little while. lowering it as they get bigger and can handle more light.

Might wanna start with CFLs, then switch to the bigger light after some vegging, a popular trend many people use now. Its makes for an easier to control environment.

as soon as i see tap root, i put my seeds in my hydro system under 1000w of lights about 2-3 feet away. That, however is not recommended. It is usually recommended to use florescent lighting for seedlings (or a low wattage MH).

i'm saying: use it but be careful to keep it far enough away to not damage your delicate seedlings and don't blame me if something goes wrong cause it is not recommended procedure.
