Will running a 1000w bulb in a 400w ballast hurt anything? It's just temp. until i can get to the hydro shop on mon. I plugged it in and it seems to be working ok, but i dont want to fuck anything up.

Help plz!

Thanks in advance:bigjoint:

I wouldnt mess around like that cuz I would be a total paranoid freak if I wasnt there. Can you say FIRE? Then.....the cause of the FIRE. Then po po involvement. Just aint worth it.

use a 1000 watt bulb with 1000 watt same thing with all light systems

I kno thats what u are "supposed" to do but i dont have a 400w bulb, mine was burnt out when i got home from work. I do have a 400 hps but it wont work in the mh ballast right? All i have is a 1000w mh bulb. I have a spare 1000w ballast BUT i dont need that much for my mothers.

So i am asking if this 1000w mh bulb can be temporary fix until monday?

buy a 400 watt mh bulb or if your hps system is complete use that you want to use the right stuff nothing that is not supposed to be there. but dont plan on putting a 1000 watt bulb in a400 watt ballast doing it is to risky

Yeah man just use the complete 1000watt system. i would never take the chance messing with electricity you never know whats gonna happen and most cases it will hurt your pockets so much more.and im sure your plants wont mind the extra light if you take care of the heat...they will prob end up liking it!lol
