I have a 400w HPS bulb, and sometimes it goes dim, I have to unplug it and plug it back in, its happening more often than not, is the bulb going bad? Someone please help me.

the light was given to me a couple days ago and didnt do it for the first couple of days, so Im thinking it might be the bulb, but it isnt a big deal Im going to replace it anyway, just wondering what it was. I am brand spankin new to this so I am learning as I go. Thanks for the help man, feel free to contact me

I would also check all of your contacts. Is the contact between the bulb and the socket corroded or loose? That could cause the dimming you are talking about. Is there a spring loaded contact point in the socket? If so does it look like its sitting high enough to make proper contact all of the time?

thanks guys I found out it was my houses AC that throws it off, even though I have it connected to a surge protector, the bulb was a handmedown, so I aint bitchin, will post a picture of it here soon, hopefully tonight!! Im so proud of my puny little girl, even though I dont remember how old she is
