Light options for 5x5

Multiple smaller lights adding up to 1000 watts or one quality light that has 680 watts? Is more power and coverage worth the hassle of dealing with 3 or 4 lights?

Maybe two 600w HPS lamps in air cooled hoods? Or 2 600-660w range LED quantum boards that'll nicely rain sunshine down on a 5'x5'...
How much space are you working with?

If you're talking LED, then yes it's generally worth spreading out the light evenly vs having a center hotspot, but there shouldn't need to be any difference in total wattage. If you're talking HPS, then generally higher wattage fixtures like 600w or 1k are more efficient vs multiple 250watt lamps. You might also consider 315 watts of CMH plus 480 watts of quality LED.

Sorry, should have clarified on a few things. The space I'm working with is a 5x5 tent. It will have good ventilation and be able to keep cool with ac, but I'd like to stick with led. I'm looking at a 680 from the wall sonofarm bar light. Its a massive light that can flower a 5x5 and has a pretty evenly spread par. And 5 year warranty. It seems to be a really good light but doesn't have any reviews so it may not stay on my shopping list if it turns out to be garbage. My question is leaning more towards mixing a couple qbs and blurples equaling 800+ watts vs 1 really big quality light at 680 watts for the same price..
