Light / Hour Question?

I currently have some plants vegetating under 24/24 5 ft double fluorescent and a 120w cfl. They're doing nicely. Can I cut back the lighting to 18/24 or will this stuff them up.

yes u can go to to 18 hours of light a day. some people like 24 light for veggin others dont. if u grow with 24 lights your plants grow faster but since the roots grow during the dark period, some people like to only give them 18 hours of light to allow better & fully root growth

also the benifit of 18 hour light is u save electricity and u give your equipment a chance to rest for a few hours so u are not running it 24/7


i somtimes do it 20 on 4 off, kinda like a little comprimise

Awesome. Thanks for the tip. I will change them to 18/24 i feel kinda mean leaving them awake all the time.

shit they will have 8 weeks to sleep 12 hours a night. i use 24/0. if your worried about electricity use 18/6. i honestly dont think there is a descernable difference.

thanks billy i got that. so its correctly written 18/6 or 24/0
i have now switched so they sleep 6hrs.
