Light fixture question

I've read in a few posts here about a fixture which basically amounts to a female light fixture that plugs directly into an extension cord or wall outlet. I've seen a few pictures of them as well. I've looked all over town, been to every hardware/dept. store but I cannot find them anywhere. Could anyone tell me what they're called exactly, and possibly direct me to an online resource for purchasing them? Or maybe give me an idea of what national chain stores might carry them?

I think I know what you mean. Its like a 5 foot extension cord ype thing a male plug at 1 end then at the other is the reghular light bulb socket for like a regular soft white bulb or standard cfl bulb. These are hard to come by they are kinda old school.Last I think I saw them was Homedepot in the light section

They plug directly into a power outlet and the cfl or whatever type bulbs screw directly into that. I haven't seen them anywere either except in a grow journal on here.

Walmart,in the tiny electrical area they have lamp repair kits and shit and those y splitters that make one light socket split into two, and right by them the have light sockets that plug right into a receptacle(they go by different names, receptacle adapters, plug to socket adapters ect...)....:joint:
