i have a garden in the mountains of colorado. we have a greenhouse on the mountain just at 11,000ft elevation. i am worried about potential climate changes in october, so as to ensure a proper harvest i am inducing flower early and am hoping to finish early. we just started light dep in the geenhouse and are blacking it out with tarps from 8pm-8am. my question is this. do i need to light dep until the plants finish their flower cycle, can i pull the tarps off of the greenhouse in mid august, or should i wait until then end of september (winter solstice) before i pull the tarps off and just let the plants do their thing? we started light dep today, july 27th...

keep it going until you get really close to 12/12. or you can gradually shift away from 12/12 by a few minutes every day until you get real close to the equinox. 12.5 - 13 hours of light should still induce flower.

i would always throw the tarp on about 12 hours after sunrise and then take it off once it was dark again so that they got better air circulation.
