Libertys Caps during spring

I picked some libs last fall (In Washington state) and tried them for the first time. I really enjoyed them and now I'm left waiting 7 months for the season to start.

So, since the conditions (luke-warm, wet) are similar i was wondering if they grew in spring? Hell, even late winter. Lately it has been in the mid 50s and raining.

hmmm. I think it is more of the ground temperature than the air temperature. The ground takes much longer to heat up and it needs to be warm enough for the mycellium to start growing and colonize. The actual fruits tend to grow when the air and ground start to slightly cool again....fall.

I'm no expert on wild mushrooms, but I have some knowledge on growing them in a controlled environment and that is my logical guess.

not sure where you are your across the seas but i have heard of certain places in the uk that are high ground and stay wet all year that you can find them year round but thats the rumour
