Letting whatever is on the plant, mature.

Now this is a complete shot in the dark. My plant doesnt have much time to finish. It still has five points coming out of the main tops. The buds at the main tops are very small. The older budsites that are still growign are doing really good though. Would it be a good idea to cut off all the main tops, say the top 2", and let whatever is on the plant mature? Am I crazy? I picked off all the really really small new bud sites that were growing at the very bottom of the plant that were very very small, just like my dad picks the new flowers on his tomatoe plants so they stop producing tomatoes.

3 weeks into flowering. And already had one frost. She will prob get hit with a couple more frosts before I have to harvest her. Im hoping for harvest mid october, but that might be pushing it as it gets really cold in october, so I might have to harvest early october.

This might be a flawed idea but im thinking if I cut off the tops she would stop the vertical growth and she would focus all of her energy into finishing the buds she already has.

no what energy she is using now is needed to the trichomes to be produced and all THC to be extracted. You can cut off the tops and harvest them for the rest of the buds just let them go on the plant, they will finish.

Best to do that sooner than 3 weeks into flower might sterss it and then could effect yield! wanna risk that
