What’s up guys. The plan was top these 3x and flip ~week 8/9. Flower tent isn’t ready for another 1-2weeks and I let these girls go.

They were both topped at the 4th node when 6nodes were there. Topped again when 2 new nodes grew. Now I have my 4 main colas vs 8 which is fine but I’ve been letting them grow waiting.

How do you go about purining? I’ve always just flipped them. See pics, this is 1 of the 4 colas that’s now 7ish nodes high. Will whatever node I cut at act is if it was topped? I cleaned up a lot of the fan leaves and lower branches. Should I have and be removing all the branches below where I top? I hate losing bud and know the energy goes into the more important stems but these are always beefy AF.

Floor pic for reference of the space in dealing with. That’s going to get changed again and just have 2 buckets with the main in the middle.
Thanks in advance!

depends on what height you have in your flowering tent/room/flowering space. the coul double or treble in size during flowering, so if you have the head room in the flowering space, 1-2 weeks more growth may be ok

I vegged the plants I'm currently blooming for roughly 2 years. I just kept topping them, kinda like trimming a neatly manicured hedge. I would caution about topping more than 30 to 40% of height. If you take off too much of the top, it can kill the plant. You need to insure there are plenty of leaves below the topping cuts.

Got it. Thank you this pretty much sums it up. I’ll trim down a node or 2 and let them recover. By then it should be enough time to transfer over.

Id shave off everything not getting light in the center that is compacted. Recipe for powdery mildew and budrot. I just let the dominant growth do its thing, it helps with stretch but then again if could be a aging pheno thing. We want them to grow one way but can just turn into a sativa tree exploding in growth making your training attempts seem weak.

It just doesnt do that anymore. I make similar structure plants I think if not mistaken. Shit I just realized I got rosin jail to attend to. 10oz to press. Peace.
