Letting buds grow in sugar water before drying

Anybody know any postitive and negative, or if any even, effect of cutting a bud when its about ready but still placing it (the stem) into water with brown cane sugar?
Could this possibly be kind of a flush for the bud, all the nutes from dirt get out, and also make the buds sweeter?

I cut a small bud yesterday and placed it in the cane sugar water but by the time i let it dry and cure a few days the rest of the buds still growing will have been cut. So if the sugar water had any good effects it will be too late to try it with a few more buds.

Would anybody also know if it makes a difference if the bud is in the water for a few hours or a few days? Maybe after a few hours its soaked up all the sugar it can and leaving it the extra days wont make a difference.

We normally flush to remove stored sugars from buds to give a smoother smoke. Freshly cut buds will take up the sugars just like putting cut flowers in a vase but i doubt the plant will be able to use them to continue growing. Dried buds should well and truly be dead and you'll just end up re-hydrating them in to a soggy, sticky and possibly moldy mess. The only reason I could see for doing this would be to add extra weight to your product once it's dried again. See Brix Plus or spraying with lemon juice/coca cola mix. IT'S WRONG!

I think you got it all wrong, im not drying and THEN placing them in the water, im cutting them fresh and letting them "grow" in sugar water.
