Lets talk about LED Dimmers.

Hi all,

I'm a new grower using a small Spider Farmer SF-1000 with a dimmer. My question is about using the dimmer. Lets say your space is limited and you need to lower the light a bit lower than the light recommendations. Will lowering the light and using the dimmer provide all of the correct light spectrums needed? (Excuse my possible incorrect useage of the word spectrum).

So, does a LED light with the dimmer activated provide the same quality of light as a light on full power?

The reason I'm asking is that one of the light manufactures recommends hanging at 12 inches height for all stages of growth using the dimmer. I thought this was a no-no and that lights need to be full power to provide the correct light. This of course is a silly newbie "assumption" and we all know what happens when you assume !

You're thinking HID lighting. Nothing wrong with dimming LED.

OK, thanks all. I'm short on space and growing in a cabinet too small for my plant. Good to know I can lower the light if needed. It's gonna be tight.

Dont laugh at my custom cabinet, I improvised on this hidden grow room. I need locks on my doors, so I'm not lucky enough to have a big grow tent like many of you do. All good, one plant at a time is plenty for me to learn on and more weed than I can smoke.

Now if I can figure out a way to get the carbon filter out, I'd gain all the room I need !

You actually get more power from leds of you dim them. I had a box like that its gonna be a struggle to not get a light burn
