Let's end marijuana stigma

can we end marijuana stigma by changing out language? I came across this I Don't Use campaign on twitter yesterday, and checked out their website... they're basically trying to replace the words associated with pot to try to change the way it's perceived.

So instead of use they're focusing on all the other verbs you can use instead, like heal, enjoy, create, or whatever. I think it's a pretty good way to describe why I smoke pot at least.. "use" always has felt like kinda a dirty word. What do you guys think?

The way we "end marijuana stigma" is by having the majority of its vocal users not be bumbling, mush-mouthed losers and scumbags. The stigma that still exists in 2016 is almost entirely attributable to the user base, not non-users, but that's my opinion. Trying to change the vernacular is a silly exercise and a waste of time, so I'm gonna keep smoking my dope and being a contributing member of society and let the people with nothing to lose keep falling on that sword until the "professional pothead" is as much an icon as the dumbass stoner. Call me selfish, but frankly, I don't want anything to do with the majority of those who are deeply entrenched in the cannabis community.

I don't think the majority of users are the bumbling scumbags you refer to lawlrus. If I think about all the people I've known who smoke since leaving college, most are functional members of society. Even those who aren't don't adhere to the stereotype. It's just the people who are the most vocal about smoking weed are the David Icke loving people you mentioned.
