I must have the newb curse........ This is around 10hrs - I have lost 5 clones, well now 50/50 chance of 6........ WTF !!!!!!!!!!

just because there curled over dosent mean nothing alot of times they stand right back up sometime mine will even yellow then they make a good come back give it time bub

I'm using a rooting hormone powder, but cant seem to get dialed in. And I know I should be using rockwool or some other medium, but I know people who use 100% perlite and have great results......

Give them a little more time. You should also trim off most of the leaves so the plant will concentrate it's energy to making new roots.

the 5 before this one, the stems turned brown, and all of the leaf's fell off

okay ill tell you what i do i dip in my jell insert into soil then set it on a semi sunny window sill not direct sun i dont even use a humidity dome just spray them till i see roots then throw them under the light never fails for me

I use cfl's, I cant use my window sill, I live on the bottom floor of an apartment building.......

then use your light just dont put i to close will do the same thing make sure your temps dont get to high also

If the stems turned brown then it might mean that thee is too much moisture and you're getting stem rot?

Is 80F ok?- I read from a post here / between 75F-85F was best????

yes 80 would be fine i wouldnt let it get any highr till you see roots but like the above poster said you could just stick it in a glass of plain tap water till you see roots the put in your medium

wow, I would think just putting it in a glass of water would kill it.............but i guess thats one of the perks of being a member here ( free access to all the pro's knowledge )

UPDATE: I guess I jumped the gun, I had it sitting right under my 6500K daylight bulb when it started to fall, I kept it in my box, but moved it from underneath direct light, and now it's starting to stand back up

Thanx for all the advice, I think I'll add this thread to my journal, for future reference, I'll post update pic's, and I think she might live

I have her in a 2ltr bottle, as a make shift greenhouse- how often should I air her out and mist her?

domes and misting is another ones of those things that really arent needed. i take my cuttings, trim the leaves and straight into my aero cloner. tap water only, no dome, no misting. i dont even look at them for the next two weeks, and 99.99% survival over last 4 yrs. make it easy for yourself.

Yeah remember clones sometimes even die from too much light. Windowsill works fine if you put some blurred glass between.
or some cfls further away ( about 15-25cm?)
