So my local wizmart has almost stopped selling CFLs completely and switched to these household LEDs that look like old school incandescent bulbs.. Are these worth a damn for growing?

Some people do it........I mean it's up to you.

There are better CFL's and LED's

I have some of those you are talking about and they are 700-900 lumens.

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve.
