Some of you may remember me from CW, OG, AN or ICmag forums. I'm researching a pretty good sized LED hydro grow, and the only 3 names that I hear repeatedly are the Spydr 1200 or the NeoSol DS.
Honestly, I'm not in to spending this kind of coin for an initial start up, but these goddamn Nanolux DE's are too hot, and as a believer in physics, particularly the inverse square law; I don't believe in the hype of the marketing, getting super tired of my 3 ton AC not properly cooling 8 of them and costing me thousands of dollars to burn plants, and give me yields similar (or less) to my aircooled horti reds. How the hell do you expect to get the same lumen output from a greenhouse fixture 3+' above the tops??? don't give me that "overlap" and MOL BS either! Maybe with help from the sun!
As a former Hydro store owner and Advanced Nutrients tech rep, I'm all too aware of the erroneous statements constantly made by these marketeers, and constantly believed by Joe public (A sucker is born every minute). I'm not trying to have smoke blown up my ass. I want some serious truth. Before you recommend me to build my own, my time is far more valuable, and to build an LED light would cost me twice what full MSRP would be on these 2 fixtures.
If you own either of these, or something just as good or better, or cheaper, have at least half a year with them, and know what you're doing, I would really love to hear your input. We don't have to get too technical, but if you have input you feel could benefit an LED newb, I would really appreciate it. I'm gonna be looking for 20 of these things, to start, and if you have a line on where to save some $$$ I would love to hear where! Thanks so much!
