hi im from the UK and wanted to know if anyone thinks those little UFO LED lights are worth getting? and if so wheres the cheapest place to get them, they seem over priced considering they a LED lights

You could grow some soft fluffy buds with a couple of those.. but I'll tell you right now, "quality" and "cheap" aren't often used together to describe LED lights. The best bang for my buck I've found is hydroponichut.com. Quality USA manufacturer with a warranty. Not the most expensive, but not the cheapest. I am happy with my purchase but I didn't yield as dense of nugs as I would have liked with the mid range model (though the plants went through a lot of stress from heat, bugs and overfeeding as well).

thanks, but i thought the LEDs didnt put out as much heat? id like to use them alongside my MH and HPS, i switch bulbs (not use both at once)

The LED's don't produce heat, but the electricity used to power them does create heat which is why the larger units (including the UFO's) have fan's exhausting out of the top of them.

If you want a "true" heat-less light consider using an LED as recessed lighting, exhausting the top of the light into a separate part of the cabinet (with it's own exhaust of course to take the heat out) or right into the air. The only problem I had when I tried recessing it, was that the cabinet I had was designed for the plants too far below the light and the LED's need to be relatively closer to be truely effective. Really the larger light I have (260w) should in my opinion be used to flower an area no larger than the shape of the light and the plants should be less than an inch away for weaker lights/vegging and within 2 inches (when I run my light at full power).

best bang for your buck so far is the blackstar series from lighthouse hydro..... those other leds from china are garbage dont waste your time with ufo's

Blackstar or 357 magnum if you want anything with any footprint and penetration during flower- dont bother with 1 w 120degree chips- great surface veg, usuelss to boost anything else
