The LED's don't produce heat, but the electricity used to power them does create heat which is why the larger units (including the UFO's) have fan's exhausting out of the top of them.
If you want a "true" heat-less light consider using an LED as recessed lighting, exhausting the top of the light into a separate part of the cabinet (with it's own exhaust of course to take the heat out) or right into the air. The only problem I had when I tried recessing it, was that the cabinet I had was designed for the plants too far below the light and the LED's need to be relatively closer to be truely effective. Really the larger light I have (260w) should in my opinion be used to flower an area no larger than the shape of the light and the plants should be less than an inch away for weaker lights/vegging and within 2 inches (when I run my light at full power).
