Led vs HPS growing

I'll be showing the differences if any between led & hps growing using some of the latest tech in led against hps.
Not exactly perfect side by sides but it's what I could muster up last min being way behind schedule & veg getting out of control. Had to give away a few & chopped one cuz it was just to big.
I'm most interested in the way each produces, density, appeal, terps & plant reaction. So it won't be about GPW, especially w/ these plants.
Growing under Amares, Cobs, the HLG Elite, SunCloak Horizons & HPS.
Just set them. Once they get acclimated I'll hit the switch.

Cobs = 900w / x1 GG , x1 Flo
Amare w/ lenses = 800w / Multi-Strain SOG
HLG Elite = 650ish w / GG or SMS
Horizons = 200 w (end caps for hps) / LA Womans, GG or SMS
HPS = 2000w / GG, SMS or GG, Sensi-Star, LA Womans.
Straggle butt lil girls fit in here n there around.
Have a good day folks!

Ah, Sensi Star and Flo - nice to see some good, old-skool strains in there. Neither are renowned for their yields, but there's the odd decent-yielding Sensi Star pheno if you find her. Here's a half-pound (trimmed) Sensi Star I grew (along with others) in my old 1200w vertical HPS set-up. 2 gallon pots for reference.

I am most interested in this thread to see how your LEDs perform against the standard HPS . . . though it would be a fairer comparison if you were growing vertical :bigjoint:

Excellent @Hybridway .
Was the hlg elite a special order?
I heard talk of it a while ago but not much since.
Thnx bro!
Stephen sent it to put up against the hps. He aint scaaaared, n shouldn't be, this thing is allot more intense then I thought it would be. Great spread too It's pretty bad-ass.

Very nice!
Yeah, SS was one of my first strains n I never let her go. Used to get a # off her under 600 hps allot. She can get pretty heavy w/ big colas. Only had like 2 decent Flo plants n ran her like 4-5 times now. Think it was more of a problem on my end though. Hopefully I've got all that noise fixed by now.
Yeah, vertical is the shit.

Yeah, that was one of my original seed runs with her more than 10 years ago. The pheno I kept was the one hanging up behind her in the picture on the right, which was really frosty and very indica, but had the poorest yield of all the SS I grew. However, it was certainly the strongest - one of the strongest plants I've ever grown - and fucked up a lot of people over the years. I kept that clone for almost a decade.

Sorry for photo-bombing your thread, but whenever I see anyone growing Sensi Star it brings back a lot of fond growing memories. :weed:

wow sure pulling allot of amps,,, you sure have a nice set up ,, i wonder how much the electric bill will be,,
Well, it's 4,550 w of light which should equal out to about 40 amps on 110. Running 220 so it's half that, only 20 amps. My electric bill is about 2/3's what it used to be running all hps (7,200-8,000w), if it were'nt for the electric comp. taxing an outrages 53% more up from 36% over the past year. Re-Fuckin-Dick. So, it gets higher each time it seams.
Crooks I tell ya, straight crooks.
Those harvests were bigger, although my normal led set-up (SunCloak & Amares) should be capable of matching that based on trial runs.
Just haven't met my quota in awhile & am trying to narrow down the problems.
Switched back to Tap water (first time here @ this opp) easing back on the new nute line, installed the mini-split, & quite using a systemic PM preventative & went topical w/ oil. Also comparing lighting as you see here.

Looking good Brother @Hybridway , what lamps and ballasts you running on the hps side?
Thnx Brother OneHit!
Running a Solis-Tech Digi Ballast w/ Digital display n all the gadets including remote. Don't use any of it though. Originally got a few of these cuz the bump up to 1080 & came w/ splitters so I could run 2, 600's off each one @ 540. Extra shielded, including the wires. That goes to my Solis-Tech 8" ducted big hood on the left & is up against the HLG Elite w/ a SMS (Super mystery strain) under each.
Also got the Phantom Digi going to the 8" Raptor big boy w/ a GG, Sensi-Star & the LA Womans 1-5.
The GG on the HPS side is between both hoods while the GG on the led side is under straight COBS.
Thnx to everyone that subbed in. Great to have youz.
Will be posting pics around Sun.
Day 1 of flower was Wed.

Don't be afraid of the Plant DR. That is not killing quality.
I have a strategy somewhat worked out. Hit them at 1/2tsp per gallon to the roots only up till week 3 of flower.
These saw Plant Dr application as has my past few harvest and quality has been another shelf higher :hump:

This should be cool but plants in picture 2 look really sick. Under watering or a mite infestation?

I'm soooo glad to hear that you're having a good experience w/ it. That looks bomb. I thought it was good stuff to & not bad for you or the plants, which is hard to find in a systemic curative. Shit works, that's for sure. Plants love it in veg. Great response. I didn't get a response from the root drench though when I tried it on a few.
You have the cannabis use instructions right?
I'll set a few aside for next run that will be treated & see what I come up w/ for differences.
This run I didn't have to use spynosin for Thrips. So that could've been a factor too. To many things applied to the leaves, I'd imagine would cause stresses just like skin irritations.
