LED UK Set Up Advice

Oh wow. What amazing people all of you are! @freemanjack - I will indeed DM you. Before I do I'm going to have my partner measure the exact size of my space because I think I might be a little bit off (I think it could be smaller than I first said - and I think too I might have messed up with my metric measurements). When I asked my partner just now over the phone, he said it's more like 4'6" x 4'6" - but, as I said, we'll take exact measurements and get back to you. When I DM you @freemanjack I'll give you more specifics about my space. Thanks again freemanjack and big-up thanks too to StonerCol, kushedy, canadian1969! You're all amazing!
Always great to help a fellow grower get their space sorted. Glad it's working out for you Daria! :peace: :leaf: (:

Hey @freemanjack, just had a look at your vids on youtube. Very interesting. I know someone in London who's got a 3x3 grow space, interested in LED grow lights but is electronically challenged. Are you considering doing panels for any & all?
I'll consider any personal request, I'm just not ready to jump into the mire of regulations around pre-built electronics, so best I can do is person to person.

Always happy to oblige, if you use skype live:freemanjack.c60 finds me. I'm deadly serious about ridding growing of the mass kilowatt requirement to grow a fuckin plant!

@StonerCol maybe he is tagged. Hope not though. That would suck.

@freemanjack I understand entirely. Regulations in the right amount can be agood thing. Regulations in the UK are 9 times out of 10 an excuse to charge a fee/tax both the seller of a product & the buyer. I'll send you a message directly about the spec.

Agreed, I'm not qualified in electronics but have worked with everything from 3 phase industrial supply to millivolt audio signals and place personal safety above all else, as a welder I am well aware of what a few amps dc will do at 70v.

I think as long as you have good experience & are safety conscious it is not a problem constructing something like this. As discussed the problem is when you want to try & officially sell said item as a business. Rip off Britain steps in & applies tax upon tax & safety check upon safety check.
I'm pretty sure this is why so far we do not have a LED array retailer in the UK at the moment. The cost, the rules & regulations of this country make it unviable. Unless you as a retailer wanted to go the budmaster route, i.e. over priced old tech.

I haven't got a clue what that will do.....I do the smart thing and get someone to build it for me :) I'd almost certainly electrocute myself....end up on the floor flat on my back...or worse....
My uncle used to work on the high voltage stuff, I remember him telling me how stressful it could be working with live stuff like that.

That's the smart approach. I just read & watch sh*t online & then do it myself. Usually takes a lot longer when I do it but so far I haven't killed myself, yet......

Just for the sake of transparency and openness, I just took a look at latest Budmaster UK offerings and rush out and buy one now...... NAH! only kiddin, they still rip punters off for over priced blurples and their one full spectrum unit ships 4th october...... wait for it, wait for it.... 295 quid @ a staggering, breath stopping 58w !!!!! STOP! don't all rush out and buy one, you'll get caught in the stampede! That's an eye watering 5 quid a watt! makes my rigs look like Lidl special offers!

I don't know how they survive. Even if I had unlimited resources I wouldn't go near them. I guess companies like that trade of the backs of the people who have more money than brains. What does that say about our nation!
