LED retrofit shoe box kit??

I mean... they make reasonable statements, equivalent hid 175-250w from 91w of xpg2 5000ks.

I'd like to know how hard they're driven.. it'd be nice to know the driver too but for 160 who cares.. just wanna know how much current is going through em so you can get an idea if it's gonna burn up or not.can't seem to zoom in, may be worth seeing what their response wold be if you asked the bin of xpg2s, but again, at 160 bucks from 1000.com, I'm not sure customer service will hold up?

~5k for veg is perfect, and if youre trying to flower with it go with the buyer on ebay @captainmorgan used for his far red "spotlight" style arrays and buy a couple of those in 630/660 or whatever your heart desires

I just saw this:
https://www.1000bulbs.com/category/led-shoebox-retrofit-kit/

Uses CREE LED's but not COBs? Is this old technology at this point? Trying to figure out what type of box it replaces??? Some metal conduit box? $159 for just under 8,000 lumens??

Any opinions?
Lumens per watts are pretty low. I think there is still a place for mono and to honest I have started building a veg light with XML2 which is pretty dated stuff now.

Check out these videos from our trusted friend @Growmau5

Cheers,

Thanks. Trying to chase down the thread for Capt Morgan's eBay buyer or seller.

I tagged him maybe he'll chime in, Thayer is right, for the same amount of money you could build your own and poop on that one. But the even coverage of those xpg2s would be sweet and dissipates the heat evenly where you'd probably be looking at only 1-2 cobs to cover the same, but heat and light distributuon coming from one spot which could or could not be a problem

I jumped to the conclusion you're micro growing, if not check out cobs and drive accordingly

There are $2 cobs you could use like white singles if you wanted the spread. You'd gain the efficiency, and they are cheaper a lot of single led packages.
