LED or HPS light?

OK so I am going to just grow 1-2 plants (I was trying 6 with a 400w HPS but I couldn't control the heat) so which of these 2 lights should I get? The 150w HPS is a lot cheaper but will I get better results going with an LED light?

I started out with the BlackStar 240 but after about 6 months half the led's went out. It produced some decent bud but I upgraded to the BlackStar Chrome 270 and I get some really nice shit now. Not just OK shit but really nice shit. The best part is that it really doesn't jack my electric bill up much. Only around 15 bucks a month. I'm happy with it because it lets me be incognito while still producing bud I can be proud of. I only grow 2-3 plants at a time staggered by 3-5 weeks and I grow autos so I don't have to fool with light schedules. For me CalMag supplement is a must or my plants will develop brown spots. I'm pretty sure thats the LED doing it but I could be wrong. As long as I use CalMag every watering I'm good. I use a teaspoon per every 3 liters and my plants usually stay damn near 100% green.

itreally depends on your budget. If you have the money, go leds. But get them new. too many things to go wrong for you not to have a warranty.

its got a built in a/c reflector. get the 4 inch flange for a few bucks extra and connect it to a fan and yorue good.

My leds throw such little heat. each 305w panel i have throws about as much as my 150w, naybe even a little less. And the heat is only felt from about 2 inches away from the LEDs. And i wouldnt even call it heat. Id call it warmth. Heat is your hand 6" away from a bare 600w. this is cooler than your hand 12" away from a cooltube 600w.

So once i get my 610-915w of leds goin in my flower tent ill let you know the temp difference from my cooltube 600w.

budbro18 I like what you have set up, but what kind of fan do you have installed with the ducting on the light? (I just sold my inline fan)

its a 4 inch booster fan. 20 bucks most places. htg supply. go on the htg storeebay to save on shipping. The intake is too strong so i have to put another fan to exhaust because i dont want to make a big hole to equalize the pressure and let all my light out. but the one 4 inch connected to the light is all you need to manage the heat.

the led on craigs list isn't powerful enough to produce good size plants. think about a larger blackstar. I had a 650 which drew about 340w. the name is confusing. and the hydro farm is really only for veg and cloning purposes. six plants is too many. stick with one in a five gal pot. prune main stem to produce many bushy laterals. yield about 2-3 zips depending on strain.

why do you say that light is only for vegging? If I go with HPS over LED then I am going to go with HPS for both veg and flower
