LED noob question

Hey guys, sorry for the noob question. Is anyone on here using LEDs growing with hydroponics? I am thinking about switching to LEDs but aerophonics is kinda my thing. My understanding is I need to raise the room temp because the LEDs don't put out heat. That could be an issue because I like to keep my water temp at 62.

Of course they give heat? Yes I do. But I use UFOs, but if you got enough of them they'll give off heat. What LED company's are saying is when COMPARING to HIDs they give off no/little heat. All lights give off heat, especially when there on for 12/18 hours a day. Got fans? Carbon filter? Look into mini heaters

I am using ~ 90w leds (ufo 90 + 4 low watt supplement leds= ~ 90w) in a 2 X 4 tent. Temps run around 80 depending on ambient temps

Everyone grow room is different...I have LEDs with HO T5 side lighting and I'm having to run a heater in the room now for the winter grow. Of course, such problems for summer... :)

Like the others said, LEDs do put out some heat but just not anywhere near what HIDs do. Maybe you could keep a small HID for light and heat and also use LEDs to save electric etc. Of course, if you are barely keeping temps with HID now, you'll need to add heat if you go LED.

I assumed I would have to add heat. Is everyone here growing in soil? There has to has to be someone growing LEDs and hydro?????

As your query is regarding hydro, I assumed you would know that I am. 3 different versions at that- DWC, F&D, and HPA
