does anybody know about the LED lighting. Have any body personally tried them and are they better than HID's. Can I get the same yield using LED's

They seem to work well in the veg room (if power savings is a concern) but they suck for flowering.
i use them to add some blue spectrum to my mother plants...on the sides..i dont think id ever use them just along..they are not as effective as MH or HPS..there are some newer high tech LED grow lights..they are VERY expensive..they are the only ones i think that would be effective at this time at growing with a decent degree of reliabilty..the square panel ones are just not bright enough ...and those are the kind that i have..although you can put them damn near on the plant...i was wanting to experement with them one day in the distant future at this time..with useing them in flower to see the if UV light will actualy increase the THC levels like i have read so much about..

Do not buy LED unless you think you are one of the .0000000000001% of people that might fall in a certain categeory to qualify it's use.
Otherwise don't buy one.
If you want to spend money then send me $600 and I will send you a 150 watt HPS light that will more than out produce the LED light you wish to buy and I will keep the difference.
If you must have an LED light send me $600 and I will design and build one to better specs than the UFO and still have enough profit to be happy. Yes it will be in the same light spectrum as the UFO and we can add other spectrums also.

It's me, I keep saying it's awful surprising that there are at least 3 - 4 new threads on here about buying $600 lights that don't work when most don't want to spend $100 to get something that does work......

and love them.its a choice and if you have the money you can get leds that do great in veg and flower.....like mine. All the people telling you not to are people who havent used them and/or saw a you tube video of an under wattage led attempt with older leds. I use 1 watt technolgy and it works for me. I veg with 90 watt and flower with 300 watt. I have vegged with 90 only and had fat buds with great yields. I am seeing the diff on this grow with the 300 for flowering.

There are 2 or more different ufo's with varying spectrums. I prefer the 90 watt 8:1 ratio 1xhighbridgelux. They seem to have the light ratio's down. I would like to test the ledufo against the Growufo to see if there is a difference. Im happy with mine.

I read it and they did an apology in a later issue. Everyone went out and threw 600 buck away on these leds that didn't work the way they said it would. High times is a cool mag but they do get paid to promote products.
