Led light grow questions ....

Ok so if your using leds only, is it better to raise them up higher , or have them as close as possable when flowering , what are the most important things to do when it comes to flower with led light .Iam using a 300 watt , and a 180 watt ufo .Should I have them close , or raise them up higher for best results .? Thanks for your help men ..

That is if those are the actual draw of the lamps if they are less you might need to move closer.

- turn hand upside down where canopy would be
- drop light within one inch of hand
- raise light until the lamp doesn't feel too hot on back of hand after 10 seconds
- raise it another 2-3"

There is no ONE answer as factors such as diode spectrums, intensity and lens angles must be considered

The more different spectrums in the panel there needs to be some distance above the canopy to blend them correctly

A high lumen per watt > 100 probably needs to be higher

A 60* lens needs to be farther way than a 90* lens

I put my hand under the panel then move it down until the intensity softens, then up ~ 4"

As the plant grows the panel needs to be adjusted up

The BML SPYDR can be very close to the canopy without bleaching, but keep in mind the need to blend the individual spectrums before they 'hit' the canopy

Newest thinking (backed by current grows) is mostly white panels, adding some 630-650 once buds set.
