Hey @Randomblame I gotta question for ya. I'm replacing a modded mars 192 reflector 440 watt +-5%wall draw. I've already built one light with Samsung f series gen 3s. But I got them before everyone started buying them. The 560mm length ones. I got em super cheap. Now they cost alot more than what i paid. I seen you talking about the Q series lights. Flowering a 32x32x72 tent. And I think ima go with Q series strips this time. My question is which would you go with. The 560mm length ones or the 280mm and buy more strips for more points of light.

I was thinking either 8 of the 560mm strips or 16 of the 280mm ones run on meanwell drivers. Which do you think would flower better. I'm thinking of going with 4k cct as well. Or possible mix up of 3ks ane 4ks. The first light I built I went with the 560mm length f series. 10 of them single row leds in a 2x4x6 tent and it just flowers out the ass. Mix of 3000k ane 2700k but I've seen good reviews of flowering with 4k. What's your opinion on which ones to go with?

I would take the 2ftooters and 3000°k only. It would make no difference if you use 1 or 2ft strips, in the end you have the same amount of diodes running at the same current. Its only more wiring effort. With 2ft strips and a 2x 2' frame there is only a 2" gap on each side and you get pretty good uniformity at 6-10". No need to use 1ft. strips..!
How much you take depends on the efficiency level you want to reach. At nom. current(450mA) each strip has 10w, at max. current(900mA) its ~21w. 525mA(12w) would mean you don't need heatsinks, just a sheet to mount them on or a frame with at least one crossbar. 12 strips would be the minimum for an HLG-240H-24A or B(~900mA) and with 20pcs in parallel they would run between 500 and 550mA. System efficiency +2,5μMol/J. With 12 strips it would be ~2,35..

If you like the plants more compact you can mix ⅓ 4000 or 5000°k with ⅔ 3000°k but I don't think its needed. I'm using 3000°k only(⅔ CRI80/⅓ CRI90) and the plants always like the spectrum and they dont stretch out more than needed. If you grow mostly sativas all the time it would make sense to mix in a few coolwhites but otherwise 3000°k works the best. @Rahz has done lots of spectrum comparisions and 3000°k seems the spectrum you yield the most with. And I agree to 100%.

Sell it that used lamp on eBay :P or on facebook group, someone may need it .

I had 3 of them. And honestly it flowers very good. But heat is factor during the summer. And have to run ac. Which costs more. And the light I built using f series strips is half the draw and flowers amazingly. And upped my yield. So it's a no brainer to switch em out. Save money on election bill plus up yield.

Cool,yes their reflector series good, but it still cannot meet my needs now, i desire the higher yield. so i have the plan to Upgrade the new lamp now. The new SP SERIES looks good.sp200.png sp150.jpg

I first came across Amare in July 2014 when I was doing a grow using a BML SPYDR 600 that I convinced Nick to let me choose my spectrums to create a single light for both veg and flower (at that time he was selling separate lights @ $1000 each). Amare trolled my thread with criticisms of the light. I ha to PM him to get him to sop as I was not able to get BML to implement all my wants. Since then, I have used many versions of Amare Technology lights. His newest Bar light is a huge improvement over my BML SPYDR 600, which still grows great meds. I highly recommend them

This is just preliminary testing so the color coding has not been adjusted for the even spread (format for central light source) but the #'s are there.
