Idk if this is the proper place to ask but I would greatly appreciate a reply in my PM box. So my electricity using mh hps set up is jumping over a 100$ a month plus. I don't mind the electricity payment but what I do mind is getting he most out of my gram per watt and penetration to the plant. I'm growing in 2-4x4'x7 1/2' height areas. Perpetual is what I'm going towards. What should I do for a DIY WETHER ITS USED FOR VEG AND FLOWER OR TWO DIFF LIGHT SET UP.
If someone don't mind taking the time. No trolls please. Send me a specific list of components to buy. From wiring to cobs holders comp. fans you name it. What kind of metal frame to buy and also DIY. Hope I can find the proper help.

have you seen the timber website? they have kits of just cobs with all parts included or whole frames ready to plug in.cutter has the growmau5 kit that is all inclusive as well just need to make a frame, which they have a video for an easy frame.im sure someone can put a list together for you, maybe give a few ideas on what you like or are looking at.or if your a black slate with unlimited budget lol. those things could help some of these guys make a short list for ya.how do you grow now,big pants or small/shorter plants?

Blackdog is going to update their panels after years.

Quoting the output of the "PHYTOMAX-2 200" : "210 actual watts and 320 μMol/s total photon flux"

So 1.52 umol/j for a growlight that's more than 3 dollars per watt, absolutely overpriced.

And the best storebought LED bulbs have better efficiency.

Hello people. These are quite new and one of the few options for pre made cobs in Europe. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Good or bad?

Not worried about the price. Yeah it's more, but they are already made. Could these really be 90w each cob? I've bought leds from this company before and been very impressed. I just don't know shit about cobs. I know my blurples, but not cobs lol

I saw them on Ebay a while back, each CXB at 90 watts is not very efficient.

Wondering about the 3250K studio CXB 3590 they're using that peaks in 630 & full of red but not listed as a 90 CRI.

That's a matter of opinion. They run only 2 cobs per fixture. What, do you want them @ 35w each so the fixture would be useless or would you rather buy 2?
90w a 3590 is perfect in my opinion. Especially when it's manufactured fixture.
Gotta get some bang for your buck.
Those look good to me. Especially with those studio cobs that might be more efficient then high CRI. maybe something new. Maybe false advertising. I don't know.
But to say 90w 3590's isn't efficient is just your opinion. I feel anything less then 75w on a 3590 is wasteful. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Thanks for that. Nice to have a 2nd opinion. That the best thing about growing. One man's gold, is another man's nightmare!

it is 93-95 CRI.

No its not an matter of opinion. They are using CXB3590-0000-000N0YAD32Q-ND which at 90 watts is around 103 lm/w ( tj=50°C) my guess for efficiency would be around 35% (someone feel free to work out or find a LER/QER for this chip.)

As we have known for a long time 3590's thermal management is not the best(very good at low currents , very bad at high currents). so its actually more like running a 3590 at any thing more than 60 watts is a waste.
Gotta get some bang for your buck.
It would be much better if they used Vero 29C's or 1825 's which are very good at a high wattage and the 90 CRI's peak around 630nm.

As far as I can recall, 100w on a 3590 is around 48%. Might want to check into that.
You're right about the thermal management. Cree using ceramic backing is the issue.
90 watts ran passive may be a bit hot but not sure. Guess it depends on the heat sinks. They are pin-finned but don't appear big.
What makes you say 93-95 CRI?
Last I knew they only went up to 90.
I think companies will be switching to Veros or Citis soon if Cree doesn't buck up w/ something equal or better. Heard they are though. Big price difference, no?
Wonder if the efficacy on the other Option cobs can hang?
Time will tell.
I need to look into the difference in these Vero options. They make a few right?
Guess I'll ask @CobKits? Or find a pre-existing thread that explains the differences.
Any idea which thread gets to the point fastest?
Good discussing something w/ you under normal circumstances BTW.

Depends on binning CRI and Temp
What makes you say 93-95 CRI?
They are a Jerry special lol . Along with the lens and heat-sink in the light

Any idea which thread gets to the point fastest?
Unfortunately most threads are like 70% irrelevant nonsense.
For Vero you can try the "all things vero " thread and for Citi you can try the "cheap and cheerful" thread.

Excellent info being discussed! You two may disagree on some points, but you're both very knowledgeable and your discussion makes great reading! lol

Thanks for the info on the plantphotnics led. Here is the other option. Budmaster Cob, please take a look at their specs and let me know your opinions. They use osram cobs 2700k 4000k 6000k. Not worried about the prices, just want the best light I can get in Europe. There's plenty of info on these too. Thanks in advance.

I think the best European grow light award would have to go to Spectro Light
http://spectro-light.com/#oswietlacze
Hybridway would probably agree as he likes some good old ''spectrum blending", They are also waterproof which is a plus.

Budmaster is good but way overpriced.
