LED and soil tent grow - Cannalope, Kushberry, Sour Kosher

9/21 - Day 27

6am - plants still looking groovy, making me smile. Got their first taste of CaMg+ yesterday. They’re getting watered every 2-3 days, by circling around the plants and leaving some dry area directly around them as suggested (though you can’t tell from this pic).

I’m thinking of topping and pruning both Cannalope Hazes and all 3 Sour Koshers in a few days (the small pots furthest left and second from right, and all the large pots), but will just prune the 2 Kushberry...

Its funny, my 2 end of summer girls are day 28 XD wanted to have something small to round out the temps before another big pot plants grow so got 2 girls in 2 liter bottles of coco. They are bigger than the bottles now.

Those both look awesome in the 2 liters. I’d be stoked to have root systems like those...healthy and massive...

Coco allows for huge roots in small area because it dyrs fast allowing for multiple watering/nutes a day where as soil usually needs days to dry out. I love the coco(Royal Gold Tupar to be exact). I also like knowing how much nutes are actually going into my plants where as soil you really don't know how much and what strength comes in it unless you make super soil on your own. You will do good though and everytime get better and eventually find your groove. I tried a diff brand coco, FFOF soil, perlite Hempy, DWC(went so wrong. Brown roots in 2-3 days XD) and than i found the Tupar coco and love it.

How long are you going to veg for?
I’m honestly still trying to decide. Since all the plants are looking really good, I was thinking likely between 5-6 weeks for veg, which should keep 3-4 plants from getting too big and crowded for the tent during flower in 3 gallon fabric pots (hoping to get 1 solid female Sour Kosher at end of veg, and I’ll choose the best looking Cannalope and Kushberry). If I was only doing 2 plants til the end, I’d veg for a good 8 weeks and then put them in 7 gallon fabric pots to get really big during flower.

That sounds like a great plan. Do your topping/pruning soon and then give it 2 more weeks. Maybe 3 weeks, we will see when we get to that point.

I’m really crossing my fingers about the topping. I “test” topped a few small outdoor plants this summer for practice, and I honestly was only 2 out of 4 in getting it right. Hope I learned from my mistakes!

I have grown out a bunch of DNA strains, I swear to God if I seen those two fucks cross the road in front of me I would straight run those two cock suckers over, now that I am done with that rant kushberry was one of the best dopes I ever had, the plant was very unstable a would freak out if you used to much N or not have enough light in veg would throw it into bud, almost like it was part rudarelis , I would love to see her grow , but wanted to give you heads up on that strain,
Several different phenos of it,
DNA never stabilizes anything , I wasted so much money on their gear, polin chuckers ,
I hope you get a good keeper of her, she will be dabk and potentially as fook,
Good luck

Thank you very much for the heads up! I’ll make sure to keep my eye on the N for the KB. Looks to me already like the two KB I’ve got going are different phenos...wonder how many different ones I’ll get in the 6 pack of seeds...

I’ve also heard about powdery mildew being quite a problem with the Cannalope Haze. Sounds like I’ve chosen some risky strains for a successful run...

Mostly DNA is garbage , if you get a good female kush berry you will the dankest of danks, then you can fight her ass to try and keep her as a mother,
She was a complete nightmare to grow and I finnaly killed her off as she was just to big a pain in the ass,
I had two phenos I remember, one fell down and great real skinny buds on like a vine, the other that I kept grew nice fat beautiful colas and was a medium producer of very high quality buds, just impossible to keep in veg and from going full retard mode though ,
Immpossible to hide the smell of her, she was awesome dope, both phenos smelled simular though , I wouldn't mind having some regular seeds of her for my collection,

I’m certainly not at the upper level of growing skills, so it’ll be interesting (at least) how the KB does in my care. These are actually the first fem seeds I’ve grown, so not the best choice for me to have possibly bitten off more than I can chew with strain choice...

I really do appreciate hearing of your experience with KB! There aren’t a lot of grow reports on it. Hopefully I can get at least one of the two I’ve got to finish well, but sounds like it’s not worth a plan to try and mother it.

9/23 - Day 29

6am - tent is starting to fill up with a rather groovy aroma. New plant growth looks excellent, but last night, I noticed some of the plants look a little too compact. I saw some leaves were starting to canoe too, so I moved up the LED about 4 inches. They were watered with CaMg+ yesterday evening, and I plan on starting pest management spraying in the next couple days with diluted amounts of Neem and Spinosad.

Hell yeah it's worth a plan to try and mother it if you get a good one, my God dude that shit is fucking off the charts good dope if you get a good one,
Just be super careful on the N and keep it under good light all the time in veg,
I grew the regular seeds, I do not believe in femanized seeds,

Right on. If the universe is kind and I’m blessed with a dank pheno that I don’t screw up, I’ll make sure not to miss the opportunity to mother it. The me screwing up part is the big challenge, unfortunately...

I’ll stick to your guidance and watch the KB like a hawk!

9/24 - Day 30

6am - plants are chugging along just fine. Topped & pruned SK3 yesterday evening to see how it’d handle the stress, and it seems happy still this morning. Believe I’ll try topping CH2 and the other SK’s later today.

9/25 - Day 31

6am - plants are all looking solid, including the four that have been topped & pruned. Last night, I topped both CH’s and KB2, but just pruned SK1 (didn’t look quite right yet for topping), and left SK2 and KB1 alone to get a little bigger before cutting. Probably trim those late today or tomorrow.

Still watering with filtered water and CaMg+. Aroma in tent seems to be coming primarily from KB2...for such a tiny plant, it had quite the big stank when trimmed...

9/27 - Day 33

6am - topping and pruning seemed to agree with all the plants, which is groovy, but makes deciding which ones to keep for flowering more of a challenge. Looks like the plants in the 1 gallons are ready for up-potting...once the soil dries from yesterday’s watering, I’m going to transplant both KB’s and the CH into 3 gallon fabric pots.

But I’m going to put SK3 in the small pot outdoors, just to sex it and get an idea of what the two other SK’s might look like in flower. I’ll likely up-pot both the other two SK’s in a few days to 3 gallon fabric pots as well. I’m currently planning on giving CH1 to a friend, but will first see how CH2 is doing after up-potting.

Back (l-r) : SK1 (reg), CH1 (fem), SK2 (reg)
Front (l-r): SK3 (reg), KB2 (fem), CH2 (fem), KB1 (fem)
