Led and CO2

I am curious if CO2 and led lights would be good together. I know hid and CO2 are good, but due to temps and having a 4x4 grow tent, I won’t be able to seal off the tent and have the hps light going. The temps would get SUPER HOT. Right now with 750w and fans/ inline vent going, the temps are at 80-81 (they’re in flowering stage). Without the fans going, on 600w mh light, the temps get to 90-100 deg F.
So that being said, there’s no fucking way to do with this hps since it seems to get much hotter in the tent.
Would LED lights and CO2 work good? Or what do you think about led and CO2?
I was thinking possibly LED to help with the heat being so high.
If anybody would shed some light about this, I would greatly appreciate it! :)

Co2 ams tents dont get along at all. You will be wasting as much co2 as your plants would use.

Most of us co2 users are in a dialed in, sealed room. If your rooms not dialed in, co2 is a waste. Unless your pockets are deep to just throw co2 away.

Led and co2 aer good. I use 4x 315 Cmh (1265w total)

Damn.... what do you think a bigger waste of time is? Asking gf if I can turn the whole back room into a grow place so I can add CO2? Or adding CO2 in a tent? Lol

The tent is going to get hot with LED mate, you would cut heat down by some degree but without exchanging air it will get warmer and warmer.
HPS actually works better (at the moment) with a sealed environment because you can air cool the lights. But you still need to use an AC to cool the space.
Tents are not air tight therefore not good for co2 grows.
Grow spaces are not that hard to keep in a good temp range for most people, co2 is not needed for most people either.
A well ventilated and managed non co2 grow with good environment will out yield a poorly set up sealed room with co2.

Why do you want to use co2 in the first place is the real question?
My buddy in CO says I need to use some CO2. I’ve also read that it helps about 30% with yields. This first go around I’m going regular style. I was just trying to get more yield. Know what I mean? Like why not? But then doing further reading and whatnot, I may need to just get a few grows under my belt before I get deeper into growing.

Yeah I know what you mean and figured that was the reason, many folks pull very good yields without co2 though. Like Demon Trich said, its not the fix all and certainly doesn't guarantee good yields. Everything else has to be spot on to see the benefit.
Some folks have no option but to use a sealed room and co2 but for most home growers small to medium scale its a complication that isn't needed and no substitute for experience.
The right LEDs are great, they are very expensive though. That's also something you can think about at a later date. Your first priority should always be dial in your environment and get some experience. That will make a far bigger difference to the weight you pull.
Good luck man. Never stop learning :bigjoint:

Yeah, I’ve just been wanting to dive in and learn a little bit about everything that I can. I currently work at a computer company and want to transition to be a grower for a dispensary in Oklahoma. I see the stuff they have here and it’s prob some mid grade compared to the stuff you see from Colorado/ Cali that comes in here.
I know a district manager that said if I can show him some good quality bud that I grow, he will talk to me about a position as a grower for his stores

That's great, more than most folks get the opportunity to do.
Growing is a very simple process and often the simpler it is the better the results.
Get yourself some books and read up on horticulture.
Find a simple method that works consistently and get lots of grows under your belt. 8-)

Will do! I’ve read the Jorge Cervantes grow Bible before. Any others you or anybody would recommend?

You may want to convert that room into a multi-light grow then, despite what your girlfriend thinks or says.

Anyone can do a single light grow, just takes a bit of time and practice and literally anyone can do it.

More than one light though? You are adding way more variables into the mix. Unless you have experience with multiple light grows, you'll be setting yourself up for heartache. Climate control is easy with a single light tent grow, it's a whole other beast in a multi-light grow. Something that is a simple fix in a tent grow can wreak havoc on a multi-light grow.

Get yourself some experience running two lights, then four. After that, you'll have the experience and knowledge you need to start running mini-warehouses. Don't get me wrong, it's very much doable. It's just that running multiple lights brings problems and challenges that you'll never deal with in a tent grow.

As for CO2? You're looking at around $400-$500 for a generator and controller. I much prefer generators personally, easier/more discreet filling propane tanks and much simpler to control. But as stated before, unless you're running at 100% optimal conditions you will see little to no difference running CO2.

Be very cautious using propane gens for co2. If your burn is not spot on, you will poison and kill your plants, and possibly yourself.

There are a few threads and posts about it here. Sure a 20lb propane refill is 20.00 virtually everywhere, it poses a few challenges

If you are using a tent looking qb boards or Samsung f series light strips if you want to diy. The board put off way less heat than cobs.
