leaving plants flowering after trichs are amber

let's say someones plants were done, most of the trichs were amber, but the bud was small and they just kept them growing.

would the buds lose potency?

is this alright to do?

The triches will get over ripe then spoil. If I remember corectly they end up popping. It ruins it, just harvest, figure out what wnt wrong and do better next time.

While it may be true that your trichomes will eventually degrade and the THC will break down. It would take months for this to actually "ruin" your weed.

Chances are, if the bud is still growing, you're probably good to keep flowering for a while.

I, for one, am a strong believer that glandular trichome colour is only one of the many signs of ripeness.

I believe if the trichomes become 100% amber then after the the plant will start to lose potency. This is just my experience not anything else.

Well, there's definitely a peak for THC production and after you pass it, it goes down. I guess the question is, would you get more yield by wating beyond the peak? I'd say it wouldn't be worth it because that late in a plant's life the buds aren't going to get much bigger than they already are.

I always look at it as less of a more potent bud is better than a lot of weak bud. At least it won't be the same as if your bud had gotten seeded, waiting till after amber reaches it's peak just lets a lot of THC the become CBD.

THC will degrade somewhat, but have you ever smoked weed that made you cross eyed? I mean it's like too strong, but not in a good way? I know someone who grew some bud like like you're talking about, and that's how it turned out. Sleepy couch weed
