Leaving LED grow lights on when going on vacation?

Always wondered, is it a bad idea to leave my apartment empty for like a few days to a week or two at a time, while my grow lights are running?

I get pretty paranoid about it. My neighbor helps me out and checks in every few days, but I'm always worried about a fire starting or something.

I run a 100W Mars Hydro white LED, and thinking about adding another one in (200W total).

Also wondering, is a fan necessary to cool that Mars 100W Hydro LED?

I'm not sure how answer this.... you're asking if it's OK to keep a light on...

Zero danger under optimal conditions.

As long as u arent overloading the circuit and your room isnt hot/lights touching anything flammable, u oughta be fine. That being said I wouldnt run el cheapo lights off amazon anyways because well..they are cheap.

Does the light shock you?

LEDs are pretty low heat. The drivers run at about 90 degrees. Atleast that's the case on my spiderfarmer TS1000. Also 100 watts.

I sincerely dont ever have a concern about a fire with it. Unless you have an electrical issue with the light or your overloading a circuit (which you would have figured out by now by having to flip a breaker) you are fine.

Do you usually run your lights 24/0? If so I think you'd already have noticed whether or not it's likely to catch fire.
If you don't, why not get a timer? They really aren't expensive.

$6 mechanical timer home depot or ace hardware.

You will need a watering system and honestly there is no more danger than it running while you are at work or home sleeping.

I am strongly considering a wifi or Bluetooth release for when I water only. Not for nutes.

Watering in a 2x2 tent is tricky for a man who is 245lbs lol.

Oh, I don't have or carry a cellphone. No experience with WiFi automated.

Let's say you're gone for one week. 8 gallon tank of fert water? With the PH maintained? Think about a PH doser. The solution will have to be bubbled. Bugs? Power outage? Maintenance man?

Basically, half your set up will be hydro.

I mean thats fairly true. The only thing is I don't have to worry about a daily running on anything but the watering once every couple of days.

Shit my knees are so bad that watering in a 10x10 room is tricky at 225lbs. Anymore I just plop my ass down and have my kids shake and fill for me.

As far as my grow area goes I’m a control freak. For some reason I just can’t let them do it. They are smart and good kids. It’s a personal tick I can’t get over. They always offer. They hate to see me struggle getting up. I’m in good shape too. Just have really bad knees. I feel like if I surrender now. It’s the gateway to surrendering.
