My 2-1/2 week old Aurora indica are twisting from overcrowding and the leaves are curling up. There are so many shoots and leaves growing everywhere. I have lights on the top and sides. I moved the top lights to about 6" away to encourage a little stretching. The plant is 10" tall and there are 6-7 nodes. My temps are 73-82 humidity is 30-55% my Ph is 6.5 the plant is beautiful green and growing rapidly but I was wondering if all this overgrowth is gonna cause a problem. Also what's up with the leaves curling. Any help is appreciated.

Aurora indica from nirvana. Thanks this is the first time I've ever grown anything its about 13 inches now and the shoots are starting to get strong and grow out or up past the fan leaves. Going to start flower next week I have another plant next to that one that I burned the hell out of with blood meal and its just coming back so I want it to catch up a little. U wanna talk about cluster f&%$ that thing stopped growing up and out and grew mad leaves rt on top of each other. There's about 4-5 shoots growing out now with nice cool green leaves. U think it might turn male or hermie from the extreme stress??

I'm using subcool super soil so I'm only watering with a humic/fulvic acid mix and this microbe life 4 part microbe technology formulas. They are pretty awesome I'm sure u know about myco and all that. I just had a fungus gNat problem but I stomped it out really easily to my surprise. If u want free samples of the 4 products go to microbelifehydro.com or maybe .org not sure try em both ha..it's on the home page. I can't find where to. UT full bottles tho so I sent like 3 sample packs to different addresses under different email addresses so I Shud have enough to get me through this grow for free. Can be used in hydro or soil. OK enough advertising just thought I'd throw that in there for anyone that loves myco and organics and wants some free shit

Thanks homie I checked out ur thread. I know the pot looked dry on top and u can see its pulled away from the side but I have cloth pots and I can feel the sides and tell if its still moist. I really think I had been over watering plus I had fungus gnats so I was trying to let it dry out a little. Can the leaves curl from over watering??

That soil looks dry, keep it moist, always. Leaf margin cupping? See my link.

Moist.... Well sorta add water when top soil gets dry and lighter color than the bottom that's how u know it's drying out and can maintain moist soil

Also curling is normal it's from minor heat stress exp on indica don't stress man try getting a lower humidity like 45% -55%

If you have a well developed root system and plenty of foliage, it's next to impossible to over water. When you let the soil dry out you induce a physical condition to the soil whereby the soil particles will repel water molecules. You'll get dry channels and dry spots. Peat mixes are especially bad about this. If the soil is pulling away from the sides of the pot, you're way overdue for a good drench. Also, fabric pots dry out quickly.

agreed except over watering part, clearly I have seen people in flowering mode with over watering issues most of them in an auto system some just water 4 times a day. A basic understand of the plant and water is important but there is a happy medium me there is room for mistakes as uncle Ben mention its next to impossible to over water unless u don't know about proper watering

The key is the keep your soil moist, but not sodden. "Uncle Ben is right again!" Most people on cannabis sites recommend that you let your soil dry out completely before watering again. This is extreme. Maybe it is useful for people that have no common sense, but it's not ideal. As mentioned, the soil begins to repel water and it makes it a pain in the butt to get the water to soak all the way to the bottom. In some instances you will have to set your pot into a bucket or sink full of water for a few minutes to let it absorb water from below.

I don't know why anyone would need to water 4 times a day... I usually give my 2 gallon pots about a quart of water every 2 or 3 days (or as needed). If they are sitting out in the sun, I might need to water them more frequently. It is recommended to water in the morning though and not during the day or evening as this reduces chances for disease and root rot problems; especially if you sprinkle water on the leaves as well.

It may be worth playing around with different mixes to find which one works best for your environment. Vermiculite, Perlite, Coir, they all have their places and benefits.

I've got some perlite in there. I do have problems getting water to soak in it tends to run down the side. My root system is massive I used a ton of myco madness from Humboldt and use humic and fulvic acid. I also use 4 different microbe life products that aren't fertilizer just good bacteria and humic acid and carbon to feed the microbes. Its good shit. I had to transplant from 2 gal to five gallon when they were two weeks old cuz roots were growing out the holes in bottom. I think it might be wind stress or burn I was reading cuz my fan is blowing pretty hard on plant cuz its sitting on the shelf rt next to plant. Gonna move it and see if it helps. Thanks for all the input. Really appreciate it. This is my first grow
