Hey.
Im having my first real problem with my plants. Leaves are turning quite dark. And some of them has light green patches on their leaves. Any ideas whats wrong? To little food? Or Too little space for roots?

.

They look pretty good Tom. The fan leaves get darker when they get older, thicker. New growth is most always light green.

The light strips could be nutrient deficiency ... do you check you PH?

What strain?

How tall are the plants?

How big are the pots?

What soil?

What is your water like?

What kind of light?

Temperature?

.

Strange to be Nut deficiency, as I'm fertilizing them with a 56-28-28 fertilizer.

Unfortunately I dont know the strain...my roommate brought them from Sweden...
Plants are ~15cm tall. 3 weeks old.
Its hard to say about the pots, dont really know how many liters are they. Take a look.

There is one that started to show its roots through little hole in the bottom. So maybe I should transplant them?
I used only rainwater. Had an old water filter at home, so I ran rainwater through it to clean from all dirt that was in that water.
Lights are only cfls. Temp - never above 30 degrees.

thats a ghetto grow op alright. i like the sound of mystery swedish weed, keep us updated. they will definately need re potting soon, other than that i think they look really healthy.

overfert , basically its optimum fertilazation , make the next watering w/o ferts and the next after that with half the doze u used the last time , if the leaves dont curl up/down or twist its good to be on the dark side ;)

What is the ph of your nutrient/water solution after you add your fertilizer?

Improper PH can cause nutrient lockout, even if you are feeding the plants properly they will not be able to uptake the nutrients through their roots. You will get difficiencies showing in your leaves and your root ball will saturate with fetilizer that the plant cannot uptake. Eventually you will add more fertilzer or other additives and damage the plant further.

The plant on the right seems to have nute burn on the bottom leaf set.

Hydroton and peat? If there is none now add some perlite and vermiculite when you transplant - drainage and water retention.

And what about that light green colorization on leaves, between the veins?

Some guys told me that too much Nitrogen in ferts caused such dark colour.

Yeah, that one on the right had some nute burn when he was only 10 days old. I decided to experiment and added 1/2 dose of nuts..
Anyway, I am thinking to stop feeding them with nuts for a while, only water bought from a store. And transplant them in few days.

That is what I believe is the sign of nutrient deficiency. They don't look too dark green.

Third and final time I'll ask: Do you know the ph of the nutrient solution and any clear water if you don't feed every watering?

.

just use less ferts and let the pot loose some weight due to water retantion ( add a day or two between waterings ) a flush after a couple of days and before repoting will fix any build ups

are there both confirmed females ? the right doesnt seem like it

.

"I dont know the PH. Havent received PH meter yet."

Cool. That's good because we now know your problem, and it's easy to fix.

Don't transplant until you get your ph meter. Get distilled water from the pharmacy - it's ph is 7.0, close to the 6.8 max that we want. Most unbalanced ph with fertilizer is low since fertilizers are usually acidic, the 7.0 will bring your root ball up slightly.

Flush with distilled water now, 1x volume of your pot should be fine. Water will pour out the bottom of the pots, do over a bucket or sink. This will balance the ph of the root ball so the plants can absorb a full range of nutrients again. When you get your ph meter feed as normal.

Your leaves already have damage which may get worse, don't worry about it. Those lower leaves would fall off by the time you get to flower anyway. Everything is fine.

Thanks guys! You Helped a lot.
As for the sex of those flowers - none of them are confirmed, as I am growing from mysterious seeds....I've also had some thoughts that the one in the right was overgrowing the rest of my plants...Im thinking to start flower them after a week, as my growbox is kinda low on height.

Ok, didnt want to start a new thread.
Its not a problem here, just wanted to ask if I am right about the sex of my little ones.
Plant 1 ( this one looks like a female to me) :

Plant 2 (Looks like a male ball growing, am I right?) :

Plant 3 (This one was bothering me from the start, as he overgrown all of my plants in height and amount of leaves. And I guess little balls are showing itself, right?)

From page 1: "Plants are ~15cm tall. 3 weeks old. My roommate brought them from Sweden."

3 weeks old from seed? If so then it's too early to tell sex at 3 weeks, most strains are not sexually mature until 5 weeks. That being said it does look like you have preflowers. Can you get closer pictures with a stand? It looks like you're right about you sexing, but it's hard to tell without a clearer picture.

It you follow The Academy link at the bottom of this post there's a downloadable ebook with a pictorial on sexing by top cloning.

.

Oh mate, I will try to take better pictures. But first one looks clearly a female for me, as there are white pistils about 6mm long. But I will make better pictures asap.

.

"But first one looks clearly a female for me"

I agree Tom, no need for more pictures on that one. Three weeks is very early to show sex from seed, it could just be an early sexually maturing strain. Did your roommate bring back seeds or seedlings?

hey man seems u are right u got a male and female

both plants tho look really well very vigorus , ill give u a hint that none on internet gives attention , w8 for it to show all potentials i mean , if that plant is suposed to give 7 bladed leafs but u force flower it when it still produces 5 the high will not be as it should it may be fantastic but not the max u can get ( its like making sex with infants ... u raping its soul ... ) , it may show sex but still is growing/maturing just as teens ! ,

when u say short space how much ? uve done previus flowering in that box ?
