Leaves - rough vs soft texture

I'm just curious if having a rough texture on the leaves is a problem, a strain characteristic or a result of a cultivation variable (soil/hydro, ph level, anything)?

I've got 3 different strains all grown aero and they're leaves are all soft, but they're also all hybrids.

The 4th one with rough leaves is like a pure indica (Blue Moonshine) and is being grown is soil.

Are the differences just coincidences or is my plant sick?

The aeroponic plant's leaves are all soft and slick. There is Nirvana's Ice and Jock horror in there plus a g13 ww.

The DP Bluemoonshine in soil has rough leaves. Feels like sandpaper when the leaves are rubbed backwards.

Is this normal for my conditions or is my plant sick?

Yeah thats normal imo as they get older they get that look well, Mine did too check it out 2 weeks ago it was smooth now its more rugged
