Leaf Tips Curling Down

I am growing 2 pure kush and 2 pre-98 bubba plants in Roots Organics soil, mixed with extra perlite and some dolomite lime, along with Cap's bennies. The tips on all plants curl down. Some leaves on the pure kush plants also curl down on the sides, kind of resembling an upside down canoe.

I transplanted from one gallon to 3 gallon smart pots a couple weeks ago. They are fed botanicare pbp grow, liquid kelp, em-1 and sea green every 3 days. Every third watering, I feed them aerated compost tea. Temps are at around 80 with lights on and 65 with lights off. I use de chlorinated tap water, and don't check my ph as I read organic soil adjusts itself to its needs.

I had thrips, but killed them off a few days ago with spinosad spray and they haven't been back since. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? They seem to be growing fine (but slooow veg) otherwise.

The same thing happens to my Amnesia Lemon Haze. I attributed it to heat because we are in the desert and it is difficult to cool. Blades curl down like claws. Repotting helps, so its good that you did that. Did you spray a rinse on the plants to wash off the excess bug spray so that the leaves can breath again?
Other common factors will include nitrogen toxicity. If you view cannabis that has been nuked (over-fed) the same characteristic curling will be seen. Some sativas dont like heavy soils and nute blends.
You mentioned dechlorinated water, is it RO water? If so are you supplementing cal mag? Its a good idea to run a baseline pH and EC test so that you know where you are. I understand not pH-ing. I dont either, but it is because I am still on tap water. When I can afford the RO filtration, cal/mag and a pH/Conductivity meter that I trust - I'll switch over. After testing for a baseline, then you will know for sure where your particular soil/nute sits, and you can go from there.

Thanks for the tips. Roots soil does run pretty hot, and it seemed to happen more after I transplanted. I did spray them down with diluted compost tea a couple days after the spinosad spray. I don't use RO water. It's straight from the tap and I let it sit out for a couple days. So it should be good on calmag, but I throw in 5 ml here and there in my nute mix for good measure.

Same thing happened to my pre 98's and I pretty much transplanted them from party cups to 2 gallon pots with cap bennies. They perked up after a week or or two.. I think the 707 might be too hot for them and it stunts them a bit..

I'm wondering if I should just give them straight water for now, or less nutes. I read that it's hard to burn with organic nutrients, but I haven't been doing this for too long so of course I'm still learning all the time. I don't use 707, I use regular roots organic but I know that's pretty hot straight out of the bag. I also noticed that some of the tips are very slightly burnt, but you really have to get close to see. These are some really nice cuts I was able to source, so I want to do anything I can to keep them healthy and have a successful harvest.

I had the same issue with Roots O (the hot stuff) when I transplanted and switched to flowering. I added too much flower nutes and got bad claw on one plant (sativa) and the other plant (THC BOMB) didn't show any issues. The claw plant went to whole way but yields sucked and tasted like crap. I think you gotta be careful with that hot soil and introduce nutes slowly.

I've got a few Bubba/Pure Kush crosses going right now....I think the leaves just curl/claw down a bit. Here is a picture of one of the crosses, Notice the leaves are a bit curled, I believe this a caused by genetic expression, if you have more leaf clawing than this picture you're over watering, or you have PH issues...Post some pics so we'll know for sure.

707 is just the outdoor version of regular roots.. I think it has more peat..I'm all organic too and I watered with compost tea every other watering I had the same issue, dont know what it is but it did the exact same thing to me with the Pre 98's none of the other strains reacted like that , and last grow my White Bubbas ( Raskal's The White x Pre 98 ) did the same thing.. Might be the way Pre 98 reacts to the hot soil , shit man I dont really know lol.

My tips look JUST like that, except they are slightly brown at the very very tip. The exception is the pure kush also fold down a bit on the sides. Not too sure how to post pics here from mobile.

I'm going to say the problem is they're over fed at the moment. When you up pot to a good soil like roots you shouldn't give them anything but water and maybe some bennies and micros. That soil should feed the plants for a few weeks. Start feeding again once you see growth plateau out.

Do your plants ever get below 60F ? That may cause the curling leaves
I would say 60* is the absolute lowest, and that's on the coldest of nights, lights off. But lowest I've seen is 65.

I'll start giving them plain water and teas and see what happens. Usually I give them 15ml/gallon of botanicare pbp grow and the other things I originally mentioned. They are a darker green with more vibrant green color at the new growth.

I would for sure run straight water and reduced nutes for a bit.
BTW-I only use straight water the last week of flowering. I always add a drop of molasses and a few other "hoarse-de-orvs" to the water to reduce stress. Pardon my French.
If the girls dont snap out of it soon, maybe consider repotting to a more diluted 'colder' soil mix.
Fungus dominated soil.
Bacteria dominated teas.
