Leaf miners attracted to my potted plants?

Weird issue with leaf miners, half my edible crop is potted in a 25 gallon, and the other half rooted below ground right next to the pot, all plants are fairly young.

leaf miners are going absolutely fucking nuts over just my potted plants, wtf gives? Its bad, looked like a fucking miner farm before i sprayed and they're back again.

I heard an imidacloprod based soil additive will kill off the miners and larvae and people actually use it but, is this even safe for edible crops?

Its harmful to bees and long lasting, so I wouldnt use it on food crops that are reliant on pollinators. There is also evidence that overuse of Imid can cause gnarly spider mite outbreaks because it kills off all their natural predators.

Spinosad works good for leaf miners and is also harmful to bees but it degrades rapidly in sunlight, so just spray when bees arent active and it should be fine.

Thanks, going to head out and find me some spinosad soap.
