Does anyone know what they think might cause this & how to fix it?

Happy Frog Soil & Extra Perlite Mix
Straight distilled water, my soil meter gave me a reading of 6.6 when i transplanted from the dome, & when i checked today it stays at 7.
i dont know if the meter isnt working right or it really is at 7, i also checked the ph of the water i gave it & the test shows it was at 5.0,
so i dont understand how my soil would have went up if my water was lower

I have never seen a soil ph meter that actually works. That's a PT Barnum invention. How much light are you giving it? I would guess they are getting a little too much light for that size.

Heat..best guess. Why 5 pH water? Stay at 6.5 . They soil should maintain. Oh calmag in distilled water.

Upward folding of leaves is a standard sign of magnesium deficiency, so like Coho said, calmag is probably a good idea. That being said your babies are pretty small in what is already a pretty hot soil. The directions on the bag will probably say not to even add nutes for a month. For this reason I stopped using ocean forest for my new babies, because it always seemed to be too much of a shock and wouldn't use it unless they were well rooted and reasonably mature. In regard to your PH issues, the forgiveness of soil is one of the best reasons for using it to grow. PH of anywhere from 5.5-6.5 when you water after adding whatever nutrients and you should be fine. Like Natureboy said, I haven't ever trusted any of the results from the soil PH testers.

the light is a 150w hps
i have calmag though, and the hps is about 3-4 inches from the top, but i have a fan on it, and its not hot to the back of my hand, its also pretty cool in the room
ive had it goin on 24hrs on, i jus switched to 20/4
