Last Day of Flower Question About Lighting?

I read on this site somewhere that on the last day of flower to turn your lights off for full 24hrs to boost the resin production in the plants before harvesting them. Is this true and if so how much of a difference does it make? Has anyone done this and with what results?

This theory has been discussed a lot around the forums, but I have yet to see any conclusive experimental evidence that proves, or disproves it...
