the two problem children, lowering the light intensity maybe that will help.
ph 5.6 ppm 600ish

checked to see if water rises after adjusting, it does not (within 24hrs)

temps sitting at 63 , still need to keep them in here in the 2x2 without much heat management, lighting runs 24/7 peaks at 68 (much to low for leds ik ik)
hopefully they just survive long enough for room #2
never used this mars hydro to veg in winter yet missing my MH heat

I know the feeling
I have my SF4000 at 80% power and can barely sustain above 80° in my 4x4

I'm almost positive low temps are the culprit to the calcium deficit, only so many amps i can use 15max and 1350 watts on lighting so already pushing the limit

damn you winter
Been a warm one yet this year around here, finally starting to touch some single digits... I had to add a heater for the night time because I was getting a 15° temp swing

Looks like your little girls are starting to show some of that same cal deficiency. It is crazy how it seems to show up in LEDs, like you said it must be the temps or maybe the spectrum.

next step is when the other 6 come into HID room, turn 1 600w off, run only 1 600w MH for veg and find a low wattage heater to run along side It. my basement loses heat so fast. can't wait for the stimulus money, getting out of this nightmare and heading for the attic. Hopefully heating won't be so bad up there

I'm wondering if dimming the LED changes spectrum similar to MH

To me it does seem easier to heat than it is to cool though
My grows are always in the basement for that reason
Also you get a minute amount of extra CO2 since it will tend to sink

upside is i finally got all the parts to build an automated feeding system. 200gph sub pump + smart plug , 8 line manifold, just need to tweak the run off Nd timing. thinking of 3 feeds 4hrs apart , or 2 feeds 6hrs apart or on/off every 5 mins, not really sure yet .

really hoping the switch to MH will help them, my mars just seems weaker now in its second year running 24,/7

MH never gave me these weird cal defs

another possibility is more lime is entering the public water supply and its making it hard to keep my tap under ph 7
LED tend to make the plant demand more calmag. I've noticed Mars and Spider Farmer have a notice in the instruction manuals that the plants may need more.

I'd definitely consider getting a RO filter, to keep your feeds stable. Check out the cheap HydroLogic RO filters.

I hear you, I switched from LED to HPS for a couple months myself.

It doesn't.

I like 2 feeds a day myself. I used to do more, but I like to give the medium some time to dry back. I can't really manage crop steering, but the dryback principle of it seems to be real.

yea I've started researching but can't find any definite answer..

current temp is 63 that might be it because I'm 20 degrees below the avg

feeding 600ppm 150ppm of calmag was hoping that was plenty for my plant size.

is there any benefit to dry back in hempy. the feeding line only fills the bottom 2in rez, by passing the perlite, top feeding until large plant mass and roots are feeding from the rez

I forgot you were doing hempy. I personally am not big fan of hempy indoor. I do kind of like hempy outdoor for an outdoor hydro vibe without the need for irrigation. I'm not sure I see much point in irrigating hempy, aside saving a little labor, and I'm not sure I would do multi feeds. I mean isn't the whole point of hempy to be low maintenance? The reason I don't like hempy is because you can't truely flush unused salts from the bottom couple of inches below the holes, and if you get nute build up down there it could lead to lockout.

well to flush the res you just run a few gallons of plain water thru the perlite , followed by the gallon of feed. it is low maintenance to me I guess all I gotta do is bring water to my 5gal res , fill it , ph it, run the pump on a timer . been top feeding now but it seems easier that way. run off has to be manually collected and dumped..pita honestly considering changing to promix

put your finger over the hole while it fills above slightly then release to flush the rez

so it seems the world has chosen for me

can't run a heater+600w. seems my only option is to push my mars to the limit and hopefully those little 150watts can veg 6 plants til the weather warms up
because I can run the heater + led but no HID.

can't wait for the attic adventures
