Killing your babies

I just had to execute 3 of my 9 plants for being male. I found it a genuinely difficult thing to do even though I knew they were devil spawn and ended up ripping them to pieces just to make sure they were right. Is this just me?
On another note when does the danger start that any males could pollenate my females? I have had then on 12/12 for 4 days now and can tell 4 of them are female but two are still unknown...

i dont think your in eny danger if it was just four days, i only have one plant hopeing its a female * FINGERS CROSSED*

i feel ya man,,I am on first grow and started with 9,,left with three,,anyway,,if ya got the males out right away yur prolly ok,and after the first couple of pulls the hurt goes away and you will start to pull them with the confidence of knowing you are doing the right thing,on my first time I noticed males show earlier,,and the 2 you have left,,could be female,as they are taking a lil longer to show

well atleast you got decent numbers.. i got 4 growing right now.. if any more then 2 are male i am going to be pissed

I now understand why people use clones. Is there any other reason other than you can be sure they are all female?

you can buy feminized seeds thats the only other way there seem to be, i think.

Problem with fem'd seeds is they aren't 100% female- they tend to be female though. There are a couple different ways companies make fem'd seeds so who knows company makes the best but all fem'd seeds are not the same. But, I am growing Dutch Passion Skunk #11 right now and one of them went very male on me all of a sudden. Two of the three are female and doing fine. One of the two females went through hellish stress early on and still remained female. Another person I know of planted five of Dutch Passion skunk 11s and all five were female. His were indoors, mine are outside.

i thought that when i took my males out i got 2 fems left but im sure there going to be beter quality plants, more light and room
