Killing the Males or not

Ok well I'm going to be growing quite a few strains outdoors. Consisting of Purple Widow,KC brains Northern Lights, Bubblelicious, and a lot of other KC brain strains.

Ok anyways so when I am growing I want to get some seeds from my plants so I dont have to get new ones, so I am contemplating on whether I should use the paintbrush technique to just polinate a few of the females or I should just let all of my plants grow out. Male or female without killing the males. How much will this decrease my thc levels if the females are pollinated? Also the males still produce buds dont they so it would kind of be like throwing good buds out the window..?

Lemme know what you think yall

I pollinate for seeds every year.

The more you control the process, the happier you'll be.

Separate the males from the females as they show flowers.

Collect pollen from the males into a CLEAN DRY container.

Remove all flower parts, and let the pollen dry for a day before closing the container.

I use Q-tips to apply the pollen.

I label all my crosses, including dates.

It takes at least four weeks for seeds to mature after pollination.

I select single branches for each cross, carefully avoiding over pollination on unlabeled branches.

Once you have pollinated what you want, you can compost the males, or dry them and make butter.(Waste not, want not.)

Best of luck!

i agree with the advice from veggie. control it as much as u can unless u want shitty bud with a shit load of seeds.what i would do is take a male and a female far far away and then just let them breed and then u will end up with plenty of seeds throw the bud and leaves in the hash pile and the rest of the plants be seed free.. i also so take a year to find out wich strains u like best and do best in your climate.

Alright guys thanks and I have another question as well now. Is it possible to cut off the balls of the males so they dont pollinate the females, so I can let them grow out and get some buds from them? Or do you think it would be possible to pull out the males and plant them all in one area after I've identified them and then let them grow out for some bud?

Holla

Male buds contain some Cannabinoids, but not enough to give you a satisfactory high. Most folks get a headache.

I mentioned making butter for a reason.

All males make is balls. Sometimes there are some resin glands(trichomes) but only a small percentage of what a female will produce.
