id smash. but yeah, if this is your first grow stick with soil. its harder to fuck up and for my first grow (in soil) im doing pretty well. ive fucked up a few times and have been able to bounce back easily. i do plan to upgrade to hydro in a couple of grows (ebb and flow table.) and always build your own, although with electric shit i always take extra care.
