Ive just read a article saying that hydrogen peroxide kills fungus knat larvae, the little bastards that eat your roots and basically destroy your yield untreated!!!
My plants are about 5 week into veg and last night noticed ive got the flys so the larvae will be in the soil need to treat them quickly.
Has anyone used this method with hyd perox before?any idea the ratio if i use this.
Ive a bottle of liquid oxygen it basically is hydrogen peroxide at 17.5%,5ml per 10 litres on the bottle for your hydro, would this work anyone.
Ive always sprayed the plants outdoor with a pesticide early on it works to prevent them in the 1st place but i havent got any at the mo.and this is indoors.
Cheers peeps

If you're growing in soil, not a great idea imo, the h2o2 will destroy your soil microbes. I'll copy something I wrote about this topic in another thread:

products containing BTI (Bacillus Thuringiensis Israeliensis), such as Mosquito Dunks (Mosquitos and fungus gnats are related) is the key to winning the war against fungus gnats. Pet owners know that the way to beat a flea infestation in the household is to destroy more than 1 link in the lifecycle of the flea, otherwise another generation is just around the corner. So put the yellow sticky traps up top to catch the adults while watering in the BTI to kill off the larvae.

Since I tend to get an infestation fairly often if I do nothing, I now treat the plants with BTI once in veg and once in flower.

The nice thing about BTI is that its not a chemical pesticide, so you can use it right up til the end of flower.

Cheers matey
I was thinking of just using the amount it says on the bottle or even half the ammount, ive just read that slices of potato put in the soil and it poisons the larvae,i know you need to do something as i had em once and it killed the yield.bongsmilie:peace:

I had gnats on my soil grow. I used h2o2 to get rid of them. used like a tablespoon to half gallon of filtered water. took a single treatment to get rid of them.

Nice 1 tx,
thats what i wanted to hear, did your soil bubble, ive read it does but i used it in soil before and it never,i only gave 2ml in 10 litre only 1 feed of the liquid oxy to keep it clean.
Im gonna leave it till tomorrow dry it out that bit more then give em just the 5ml like it says on the bottle.
i think if i do it like that i wont poision them by overdoing it, was thinking even half that for a couple of feeds.:peace:

Well i fed them on saturday with silica as i usually do i wasnt exoecting this and i dont know whats happened but i opened the tent and no more flys! it seems to have killed the gnats.
I let the soil dry out till thursday,i then agitated the soil and no flies again!!!!!
It seems to have killed them at least,so ive added the liquid oxyen in at half rate 2.5ml in 10litres,sprayed it over the top i cant feed from bottom, not enough room but still not 1 fly flew up out of the pots,im amazed and pretty chuffed tbh.
I dont know what the silica has done i usually add it once in veg. As it supposed to bring on healthy plants and coat the cells intenally and makes the plant overall more healthy, also reading online about it,says it can be a bit of a mild pesticide but its not harsh on the plant theres a lot to it.
Im buzzin with the stuff took 4 days and now no flys using only liquid silica.
