Keeping smell down

Is there any way to have a closet grow of about 4 plants and still keep it from smelling up the room that its in? My closet is kinda like a hallway closet with an actual door that shuts. I know people use carbon filters for exhaust but I dont think there is any way I can vent the closet. If i did would it even matter?

Carbon filters are the way to go, it gets rid of the stink.. but if you can't cut a hole in the closet to vent it, you could always just get a carbon filter and the exhaust fan, it would just blow into the room, do the same thing but I don't know how it would effect the moister and everything.. could always try an electronic air filter
