Keep breaking glass

Im twitchy as F and have problems with coordination and fine motor skills. I never know when a tick will happen to intercept a bong / whip and then bang its in shards all over the floor. With my bong i have wrapped layers of thick duct tape over the outside, which so far has protected it from knocks. Problem is with my whip i need to be able to clearly see the vapor flow, so i cant just wrap it up to protect it. My last whip lasted about 2 months, but eventually a twitch knocked it completely off the vape and it landed on metal and smashed. (I have various items made mostly of metal that i have to have close at all times).

So how can i protect a vape whip enough to survive being hurled into metal, while still allowing me to see the vapor flowing through the glass?
(before you say duh, try not hurling it at things, remember this is about ticks and poor motor control, so my body is constantly doing things that i did not consciously intend to do)

Best suggestion i can give is to rig something up out of clear plastic that won't break. If its part of the heating element in which case I've got nothing though.
