Just smoked some maui waui after switching to jack's 3-2-1 from GH. All I can say is WOW!

You've all heard me rant and rave about jack's 3-2-1 lately after switching from general hydroponics. I've ranted and raved because the flavor, resin production, burn qualities, and potency have all improved. I'm not just talking improvement though. I'm talking about remarkable improvement. I've grown maui waui for over 2 1/2 years now. Same cut. It has always had a sweeter aroma with GH and a very lack luster high, but it's very pretty and has amazing bag appeal. After switching to jack's the maui has a much stronger skunk smell with sweet undertones whereas before it had nothing but sweetness to the aroma. It exhibits a great deal more complexity and depth now that makes you want to go back for another sniff after you pull the flower away from your nose :) Moving on to the flavor, burn qualities, and high.

I harvested a few tiny little pop corn buds at the bottom of the plant. Just something to sample ya know? Not even completely dry yet. Maybe 4 days in. Good enough to burn with satisfaction. Not only did it taste satisfying and burn smooth, but I noticed it has a new flavor. Before it was very sweet. Now it's got complexity. It's a blast of skunk mixed with sweetness and you can't figure out which one is more powerful. It leaves your pallet in a state of confusion that's very satisfying. It makes me want to go back for more and keep burning it down, but the potency. Oh my the potency. I almost cycled maui out this next round because I grew so tired of the lack of potency. I literally only have 1 cut in the garden right now. However, the jack's grown maui is off the hook potent! I'm stoned like the summer of 8th grade allover again man. So stoned I'm a little paranoid. If I went to the store right now I'm certain everyone would be staring at me. That kinda stoned :)

How about burn qualities? I had a problem with dark ash on my joints and in my bowl from the maxi boom. With jack's it burns clean. I can literally burn a whole bowl down in one hit and tap it out in my hand. Just like I use to when I grew in soil. I've never been able to do that with maxi. And those days are over.

I am very excited to see how much different critical mass and ghost train are from the last cycle. Switching to jack's 321 has been the best decision I've ever made in the garden.

If you haven't tried jack's I highly recommend you do. They have soil and hydro fertilizer. Cheap too. If anyone else has noticed a significant change like this please share! This is very very cool to me. The improvement had nothing to do with me and everything to do with jacks. I give all the credit to them. I'm very thankful the guys on RIU and GreenGene who steered me to this awesome place I currently find myself. It's just so frustrating to put all the time and energy into the garden and not receive the results you want. I've done that for about 2 years now, and those days are over. Thank god :)

Amazing what a proper balanced feeding that keeps the plant healthy throughout the grow will lead to at harvest time. You don't need to use a dozen bottles of stuff and fry your leaves to get good yields of good weed. All that junk many are using that's giving them crispy fried plants is also giving them lower quality cannabis. But these days many think a burnt to a crisp plant is normal.

Enjoy that Maui Waui. I have some from Nirvana. I don't know how authentic it is but it's good weed regardless. I crossed some with a Thai and that cross is really good. It's my Thaiwaiian. I just harvested a couple small plants.

Well @jonnynobody you know I just switched to Jack's from GH FloraNova. Plants are sure healthy and the little shoots are so nice and green. Can't wait to taste the difference myself now.
I’m running straight floranova bloom as well, first time, I expect nice results. Stuff potent compared to the trio, there’s no way I would attempt full power Lucas formula with fnb. 100% requires calcium added with ro though, I keep trying to stray away but nope.

Jacks is on my must try list too, I might try it next.

I've heard nothing but great things about gardeners who have used flora nova. It seems to be a high quality product. Love the simplicity of 1 part mixes too.

I think a lot of people are just using too many damn additives and it muddles up flavors. Jacks is just nice and simple, part a and b and some epsom and fulvic will give as good results or better than many of the 5-15 part bottled lines. I barely even need to adjust ph when I mix it to 1.8EC
I could not agree with you more. I use zero additives. This is where me and GreenGene part ways on Jack's 3-2-1. Jack's does not require Tribus, fulvic, or humic acids. Completely and wholly unnecessary when using the 321 system.

The FloraNova Grow is great for houseplants. I got a bottle for my lady because I got tired of mixing the 3 part dry I have for her. She's able to mix the 1 tsp per gallon without any issues. Although I did have to walk her through it the first couple of times.

@jonnynobody, how are you liking those pot elevators? I was thinking of grabbing a couple.
I absolutely love them! If you're growing in soil, coco, or peat they really are nice. Just keeps the plant's roots from getting swamped up with catch tray run off. I really dig 'em. They were kinda pricey when I bought them years ago. Can't remember what I paid but it was around $3 or $4 each I think. Really sucked initially, but it was well worth it in the long run. I feel the same way about my oversized monster saucers. I kept nearly overflowing the smaller saucers and it really pissed me off so I had to do something to solve the problem. I paid around $4 or $5 each for the monster saucers with thick gauge plastic, high rims, and wide diameter. That investment hurt at the counter, but again I've had them for years and I really love them. Small saucers are just a giant pain in the rear.

How do you know the reason you are noticing a difference is from the different fertilizer and not some other reason, like different conditions at the root zone or in the canopy, normal plant to plant variation, or confirmation bias?

Same clone from clone of the same strain under the same lights in the same medium under the exact same conditions. Did you even read my op?

I sure did and I didn't see anything about any type of controls. Did you read the end of my sentence regarding confirmation bias? I don't think you can justify your conclusion.

Cool. I'm in peat and they look like a good solution. Already have the monster saucers.... :p

Well I like a scientific approach. I'm new to Jack's and I feel I can notice a difference. I'm in hydro and my root zone is pretty consistent; there's a chiller for temp and I check and adjust PH 2-3 times in a 12 hour day. I have great HVAC so my A/C and 2 dehumidifiers keep the room very consistent for temp and humidity. I'm running all clones under the same LEDs. I started noticing yesterday how neon green the little shoots were when I dug them out of the growth so they would get light. I was looking through my fans today from the undersides (they're eye-level) and I was thinking that I'd never seen that shade of green in my fans before. It's the same neon shade the shoots have; just super healthy looking. I'm watching the red petioles now. I'm sure they got less noticeable in the last 2 days, but I'm watching close. Maybe it's confirmation bias; I sure want my crop to do well and the Jack's is super simple and cheap to run. Nothing wrong with being a sceptic, it's smart to doubt a product's hype, but some are legit. I'm new to it myself; less than a week so I'm not an expert by any means; but I'm not new to growing pot. The plants are happy.
