Just ramblin' for my first post

Honestly, I just registered so I could see pictures.

But I can ramble on-topic if you're really interested...

I hear all of this talk about kush this and kush that. I swear, you would think that the original Kush seeds were germinated in the virgin mary's crotchjam or something. In twenty years of smoking, I have never come across any "kush". So I decided it was time I found out what this kush craze is all about. I ordered some Mazar Kush beans from the 'tude. Then I read somewhere that Mazar Kush is not "the real Kush"....it's just a very robust and potent indica dominant selected from afghani genetics blah blah blah. So now I'm left to ponder...wtf is a real kush? I know what I think, but I'd be interested to hear what others have to say about it.

And another thing...I read something here about someone saying a strain had kush in it because "he could smell it". I am not naming names, because I'm not interested in the politics of that whole debate. But it reminded me of another incident I had with this Mazar Kush.

Before I could pop mine, I had several months of downtime. I gave half of the beans to a friend...he's a true head-case...certifiable. An old hippie with lots of crazy ideas. I would check on his grow from time to time. I noticed that one of these plants had a distinct blueberry pheno going for it. I swear I pointed it out to the dude several times. Now he's harvested that round, and he tells me "Hey, guess what...I must have planted one of my old blueberry seeds. One of these that I just chopped is that old blueberry strain".

Now I say all of that in order to make a few points. First of all...this guy has never had real DJSBB in his life, but he would be perfectly happy to pass off this bud as "blueberry" to anyone who asked. Second, a truly unique blueberry pheno of Mazar Kush just got completely lost in translation.

So, for my first post, I would just like to quote the immortal Public Enemy when I say:

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.

I wish everyone I encounter joy and happiness.

great. and i agree with you on the hype, its a lil crazy. but there are some really dank strains out there nd its fairly awsome. but me myself have just collected select bageeds and now im doing my own selective breeding. i doubt i will ever order seeds from a seed bank.

no need to preach of hype here friend!
i'd sooner take a clone of a marijuana plant i found in a drainage ditch beside the road before I'd ever buy seeds.
hell...my legs are gimpy at best, and I'd go hiking and looking for said ditch weed before the thought ever crossed my mind.
