S S50 Active Member Jun 18, 2007 #1 Should I keep the lights off until they break through the soil? I have always put CFL on the pots when I planted them but this is the first time I have had an HPS. They are LR2 so I am going with HPS for the entire grow, since it is so short.

kieahtoka Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2007 #2 The hps would dry up that soil in a hurry, and it might be too intense for your little seedling. so for now put it in a warm place and wait.
